130 year old school, very low socio-economic, low levels of educational engagement, high youth and general unemployment, slow broadband, fatigued IT infrastructure – basically think of the barrier and we are there. So how, given these challenges, have we turned it around in just under two years. Increased enrolments across all grades, majority of students using preferred devices on BYOx system and most staff actively seeking out to be involved in digital learning programs and pushing the boundaries of what we thought is possible.
We will present the strategies we have used that have seen us succeed whilst highlighting the failures that we have learnt from. Our strategy has been one of involvement and engagement at all levels of staff whilst insisting that no one person is the expert. We have focussed on learning from each and more importantly, from our students and the community.
